Queer Speed Date Night

Join us for our first ever Queer Speed Date Night: Blacksmith Edition! During this 4 hour event, you will learn the basics of blacksmith techniques with other singles, switching between anvils to work with a different person every 30-45  minutes! This type of forging is called Team Striking, and is a great way to learn to work with others and to listen to them, while making something unforgettable. This event will be a great way to create platonic or romantic connections with other queer persons in your community!

This class is great for beginners hoping to learn blacksmith techniques such as squaring, tapering, scrolling, twisting and much more. In this 4 hour class, you will choose a project from our menu and learn the techniques needed to make your own unique blacksmith piece. Projects types include (but are not limited to): wands, hooks, garden ornament, camping tools, candle holders, and SO MUCH MORE! 

Attending this class will qualify you to use Open Studio Hours in the blacksmith area ONLY. Please see our Open Studio page for more information.

No pre-requisites required!

All PPE and safety equipment provided. Dress code strictly enforced for your safety and the safety of others (see FAQ page for more details). 

This class is available for all differently abled persons. We have wheelchair access throughout the shop. Please contact Ashe if you have any needs you are concerned about. Ages 18+ welcome.
