Metalsmithing 1: Circles Pendant

Service Description

INSTRUCTOR: Liz In the first of 4 project-based classes, you will spend 2 hours learning to shape and solder silver and copper to create this amazing circles pendant (see picture)! You'll learn simple soldering, forming, filing, and finishing techniques and leave with something beautiful! This class is a great chance to explore the basics of metalsmithing. LEVEL: Beginner PRE-REQUISITES: None OPEN STUDIO QUALIFIER: Yes DURATION: 2 hours (approx.) CAPACITY: 8 people OUR GUEST INSTRUCTOR: Liz honed her skills while earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in small metals and sculpture. Inspired by the world around her, she continued her education with a Masters in Cultural Studies. Liz’s extensive experience in metal work includes welding, blacksmithing, and a career in sculpture conservation, including working at the Smithsonian. Her teaching background ranges from first grade art classes to private jewelry lessons and has spanned over a decade. Liz is the owner and creator behind Covert Metals, a one-woman, LGBT+ metalworking studio located in Denver, Colorado that has roots reaching from New York to Texas. Covert Metals emphasizes unique one-of-a-kind design that melds contemporary styling with hand-forged detailing. Rules and Policies

For specialty classes, cancellations must take place at least 48 hours in advance for a full refund. No exceptions. This class is held irregularly, and therefore rescheduling will not be available. This class has a 3 person minimum to meet our costs. We reserve the right to cancel this class at any time. A full refund will be given to all persons that have signed up for a class that has been cancelled.
