INSTRUCTOR: Ashe Plasma cutting uses a high voltage electrical beam and an air compressor to cut through metals, and a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) system uses a motorized, multi-axis table to direct that beam around its work area. Together, they form a powerful tool that a skilled operator can use to cut pre-programmed designs out of sheet metals like steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and bronze. In this introductory class you'll get a step by step walk through of the design process, the principals and generation of G code, and the use of the system's control software, and you'll get to see the machine in action as you choose from a list of small designs to cut and take something home with you.
