Service Description
INSTRUCTOR: Ashe MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding is a widely used form of arc welding that channels electricity through a solid metal wire fed through a welding gun-- it's a lot like using a hot glue gun but instead of glue it's metal! This class is geared towards curious artists, makers, and persons that want to experience MIG welding in a non stressful environment. This class will combine simple welding techniques, as well as some shaping and fabrication that will allow participants to design and create their own free standing steel sculptures from repeating shapes. This class differs from the MIG Welding 101 because it does not fully go into the welders, how to use them and set them, and the consumables involved. Instead, we will learn how to weld on a pre-set machine, and participants will be able to focus more on their sculptures than the intricate ins and outs of how to weld professionally. LEVEL: Beginner PRE-REQUISITES: None OPEN STUDIO QUALIFIER: No DURATION: 2 hours (approx.) CAPACITY: 2 people AGES: 14+ (9-13 with adult supervision-- contact for details)

Safety code strictly enforced for your safety and the safety of others. Dress for success-- - Wear all natural fabrics (cotton, linen, silk, canvas, denim, leather, etc.). Synthetic fabrics can melt to the skin and should be avoided. - Closed toed shoes are required at all times in the shop. Canvas or leather shoes are recommended but not required. - Long hair should be tied back and dangling jewelry/accessories should be removed. - H&F provides all other necessary Personal Protective Equipment (helmets, caps, jackets, gloves, etc.) - If you have safety equipment of your own that you prefer to wear, please feel free to bring it with you. Hardy & Fuller provides water and some snacks for our guests, but you are welcome to bring your own as well. Accessibility: Open to all differently abled persons.
